The ninja turtles speak Neapolitan: eroi de fogna, ma cu 'o core a Napoli (sewer heroes, but with their hearts in Naples).
Teen Turtles is the wild mash-up between the cartoons of our childhood and the streetwise soul of Naples: four turtles who, instead of New York pizza, fell in love with the real thing — fried pizza and pizza a portafoglio — and certainly aren't scared off by a scooter going the wrong way down a one-way street.
This is the piece for anyone who grew up between the Turtles on TV and cartoons watched in Vomero, for those who like to remember that the toughest heroes are born where there's the most chaos: in the bassi, the narrow alleys, the sewers of every city that knows it's special.
A perfect gift idea for 90s nostalgics with a soft Neapolitan 'r' in their heart, or for anyone who knows that, deep down, even Naples has its share of undercover heroes.
