There are names that need no surname in Naples. You say Pino and everyone already knows who you're talking about: that lad from the Quartieri with a guitar in hand who taught half the world what it means to be nero a metà ("half black", one of his most famous songs). And if you put the word "Quando" ("When") next to Pino, then things get serious.
Because Quando is no ordinary song: it was born in 1991, on the album Sotto 'o sole, and became the soundtrack to Pensavo fosse amore… invece era un calesse by Massimo Troisi. Two Neapolitan giants, a singer-songwriter and an actor, meeting on a single verse and polishing it together until it became timeless. The result? One of the most heartfelt (and most hummed) love declarations in Italian music.
This print is a small secular shrine to that magic: a way to keep "Pino" on the wall at home and remember that in Naples, love, melancholy and poetry all live within the same verse.
If you too have ever found yourself singing "tu dimmi quando, quando" with a lump in your throat, then you already know where to hang it. Take it home: Naples is waiting for you on the wall.
