«Dottò, scusate, ma che è successo?» If that question makes you smile, you already know what we're talking about. It's the scene from Così parlò Bellavista ("Thus Spoke Bellavista", 1984), the film by Luciano De Crescenzo: in Piazza Mercato, Salvatore (Riccardo Pazzaglia) tells an ever-growing crowd how he foiled a robbery almost without meaning to, a handkerchief in one hand and, in the other, a little red plastic horse just bought for his nephew. In the book it was a football; in the film it became a little horse, and ever since that little horse has been Naples itself: the city that turns everything into theatre, that stops to listen, that transforms an ordinary happening into a story worth telling.
A greeting card for those who know that, in Naples, even a good wish deserves a crowd gathered round. A tribute to Luciano De Crescenzo.
