In Naples, even Halloween ends up on the table: Jack-o’-lantern cooks a steaming pasta e zucca in front of night-time Naples. Logo on the chest, maxi print on the back.
In Naples, even Halloween ends up on the table.
Some people see a pumpkin and think of Jack-o’-lantern. We thought of something much more serious: pasta e zucca (pasta with pumpkin).
And so “Pasta e Zucca – Neapolitan Halloween” was born, the Napoli Tattà® Special Edition that takes one of Halloween’s most recognisable symbols and drags it, without much ceremony, straight into Neapolitan culture.
The star of the artwork is a rather unusual Jack-o’-lantern: he lifts off his own head, uses the pumpkin to cook, and prepares a steaming pasta e zucca in front of a night-time Naples, suspended between the Gulf, Vesuvius, lit-up alleyways and all those details that instantly belong to our city.
The result is an ironic, surreal and deeply Neapolitan design, in which Halloween stops, for a moment, being an imported festival and becomes something truly ours.
On the front, we chose to keep things simple, with the Napoli Tattà® logo placed on the chest.
It’s on the back, though, that the hoodie tells its whole story: a large artwork in orange, blue, cream and red, designed to stand out against the black background and dominated by the wording:
PASTA E ZUCCA
NEAPOLITAN HALLOWEEN
A scene that brings together traditional home cooking, street culture, irony and Halloween imagery, without losing the recognisable style that defines the Napoli Tattà® collections.
It’s not just a Halloween-themed hoodie. It’s our way of taking a tradition that came from far away and giving it a stroll around Naples.
Because around here, even Jack-o’-lantern was always going to have to learn how to cook, sooner or later.
Halloween comes and goes. Pasta e zucca stays.
