Cristo Rivelato: a masterpiece in the Cappella Pappacoda
After the celebrated Cristo Velato (Veiled Christ), Naples proudly presents the Cristo Rivelato (Revealed Christ) by artist Domenico Sepe, a wonderful bronze sculpture that now lights up the historic Cappella Pappacoda.

Unveiled on 24 March 2023, the public now has the chance to admire this fascinating work, inspired by the famous sculpture by Sammartino. The Cappella Pappacoda, recently reopened after a decade, finally houses this precious sculpture. On the occasion of the official inauguration, a press conference was held with the participation of the artist himself, local authorities, the parish priest of San Giovanni Maggiore Don Salvatore Giuliano, the project curator Leonilde Romano, art director Pietro Mingione, and art critic Daniela Marra. This sculpture, originally part of the private collection of the Ciccone family of Brusciano, has been entrusted for public display. The Cristo Rivelato thus becomes part of the guided route that reveals the hidden beauty of the Basilica di San Giovanni Maggiore. Don't miss the chance to visit this extraordinary work of art!
